MURK
Meet the team
Our incredible team is truly the heart of Murk. It’s our shared dedication, passion and talent that helped pull our project together. Take a look below to learn more about each team member and how they brought their individual backgrounds and work experience to Murk.
Juyoung Park
Director & Cinematographer
Juyoung is studying cinematography at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. She has shot four films in the last two years, with Murk being the fifth. The most important thing in her cinematography is to show the character’s feeling with the camera. She also believes that text and literature make us feel much richer emotions that cannot be felt through films, so she loves to read books and try to visualize their subtext. Murk was an interesting project for her to work on because it is her first project in a foreign language.
Miyoung Park
Lead Actress & Korean Translator
Miyoung is currently in her 3rd year at the Seoul Institute of the Arts and is pursuing a degree in Acting. She is an experienced actress, having acted in both films and plays prior to her role in Murk. This is her first role in an English series, as well as her first collaboration with students from English-speaking countries. She enjoyed the challenge of acting in her first Korean-Canadian student project and creating Korean captions. She is excited to showcase her work in Murk!
Sarah Sparks
Screenwriter & Supporting Actress
Sarah is currently in her second year at Ryerson University and is pursuing a degree in Creative Industries. She is an experienced writer and editor, publishing pieces with Her Campus Ryerson and working as the Co-Arts Editor at Ryerson Folio. This is her first attempt at screenwriting. She enjoyed the challenge of incorporating everyone’s ideas into her work and is excited to share Murk with the world! She is by no means an actress (but tried her best on this project)!
Christiana Webster
Editor
Christiana is currently in her first year here at Ryerson University after taking the past four years off from school to work full time. She is working towards her Bachelors in Professional Communications and is enjoying all her classes! This is her first major editing project and she is so thrilled to have such a talented team of students to work with.
Eunjee Ko
Makeup Artist
Eunjee created the final special effects makeup look worn by the character of Young in Murk.
