Murk Poster

Elevator pitch
This project is a short pilot for a web series called Murk, centred around two step sisters who have been torn apart by the divorce of their parents. The pilot focuses on a fight between them that results in a scary physical transformation for both of them, despite their nearly 7,000 mile separation. Each subsequent episode will incorporate user generated feedback into the plot progression.

Brief Outline of Idea:
Murk is centred around Emily and Young, two step sisters who struggle to remain connected after their parents divorce. All is well until the drama between their parents eventually sparks a heated argument between them, resulting in both experiencing strange, mermaid-like changes to their outward appearances. The pilot focuses specifically on Young who was moved back to South Korea after the split. The goal is for the series to have 10 episodes ranging from 8-10 minutes in length. Each episode of the series will focus on the sisters navigating through the new obstacles of their relationship in order to rid themselves of these scary outward changes. Each episode will be posted on Youtube and the viewers feedback will heavily influence the direction in which the story goes. We want to show that it is possible to film an entire series in multiple countries with multiple languages while incorporating user feedback into the experience. This is our vision of reimagine the future of creativity, and we hope that this project can inspire a younger generation of creatives to start film projects of their own with their friends, no matter where they may be located in the world. The target audience is specifically 13-16 year olds in South Korea and Toronto.
